GUY DAVIS

Guy Davis
"Michigan based artist Guy Davis spent his youth drawing and sketching monsters and aliens, with an imagination fed on a healthy dose of late night creature features and monster mags!
A self-taught illustrator, Guy first tried his hand at cartooning with a strip that ran in his hometown newspaper during his high school years— which by all accounts is worth forgetting. It was after graduating and not really having any idea of what to do with himself outside of drawing, that he decided to try and continue in comics. In 1984 he created a tongue in cheek space opera “Quonto of the Star Corps” for the small press “Fantastic Fanzine”. Quonto was soon forgotten but the fanzine would later become Arrow Comics and lead to work on the comic series The Realm. After a few years at Arrow Comics, his work on The Realm would take him to Caliber Press and his first creator owned series with Gary Reed; the Harvey Award nominated Baker Street. It was Baker Street that led him to DC/Vertigo and Sandman Mystery Theatre with Matt Wagner and Steve Seagle, and that collaboration would lead to many more projects and deadlines over the years to come. Since then he has worked for most of the major comic publishers along with providing artwork and conceptual design for various role-playing games, and multi-media projects.
Currently Guy is illustrating Mike Mignola’s and John Arcudi’s ongoing B.P.R.D. series (work which won him a 2009 Eisner Award for Best Penciller/Inker), along with continuing his creator owned series The Marquis for Dark Horse Comics. He still resides in Michigan with his fiancée, the talented writer and artist, Rosemary Van Deuren, along with a menagerie of pets and a trio of horse skulls named Becky, Conrad and Steptoe."

LACKADAISY

Lackadaisy
"Lackadaisy (also known as Lackadaisy Cats) is a webcomic created by artist Tracy J. Butler, which has won Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards in 2007 and 2008.[1] The comic is set in a Prohibition-era 1927 St. Louis with a population of anthropomorphic cats.[2] The plot chronicles the fortunes of the Lackadaisy speakeasy after its founder is murdered.

The style of the comic is highly detailed, with cartoon characters that resemble styles from animated films of Walt Disney and Don Bluth.[3] The strips are sepia-toned, resembling aged photographs of the 1920s era. Launched on July 19, 2006, the comic updates on an irregular basis, with 23 pages in 2006, 25 in 2007, 13 more by the end of September 2008,[4] and continuing on a monthly basis through 2010."

EMANUELE TENDERINI

Emanuele Tenderini
Nasce a Venezia nell’ormai lontanissimo 1977.

ROBERTO RICCI

Roberto Ricci
"Robert Ricci has been fascinated by music and comics from an early age. He studied art, then decided to be a professional guitar player. After years of studying the instrument, his dream was shattered by a chronic inflammation of the tendons. He then turned to the International School of Comics in Rome. There, he met Saverio Tenuta, who helped him in getting his first story published in magazine Heavy Metal ('Conquistadores', in May 2000). At the same time, Ricci published short stories for children through the italian publisher Magic Press, and at last, after spending some years doing private commissions, small jobs in the graphic field and other short stories for Heavy Metal ('The Dart' in November 2000 and 'Genesis' in January 2002) he got in touch with Saimbert, a French scenario writer. Together, they began working on a project for the French publisher Delcourt, titled 'Les Âmes d'Hélios', a science-fiction epic in five volumes."

BENOIT BOUCHER

Benoit Boucher
"The very first job Benoit ever wanted to do was Lion Hunter. As he soon learned of the risks associated with such a job (and the difficulty of employment), he lowered his ambitions (as he has his whole life; 29 years & counting!) and decided to become a wasp hunter…then an archeologist (he likes Greek mythology and Indiana Jones), then a paleontologist (he thought that archeologists were also into dinosaurs, and that’s what he likes best!) and, finally, an artist… which seems just as unrealistic as those other jobs.."

TATSUYUKI TANAKA

Tatsuyuki Tanaka
"Tanaka was one of the key animators on Akira and was responsible for, among other things, the animation of Testuo’s rapidly mutating arm. His still illustrations draw from similar imagery, telling stories of young people set in a crumbling future, and filled with grotesque experiments and bizarre creatures. The images below come from Tanaka’s art book Cannabis Works."
