Pacchigi! di Kazuyuki Izutsu

In the first of what will probably be several end-of-year awards for Izutsu Kazuyuki's film Pacchigi! (aka We Shall Overcome Someday), Nikkan Sports (a daily sports-oriented newspaper) awarded Pacchigi! "Best Film" at their 18th Annual Nikkan Sports Film Awards (Japanese only).
Combining the youth movie factors and a social issue, discrimination against Korean Japanese, "We Shall Overcome Someday" hit the Japanese movie industry and the market with a fresh taste of social-entertainment film. The story background : Korean high school kids and Japanese high school gangs are hostile to each other, and a Japanese boy fall in love with a sister of a Korean member. On the course of their encounters, the boy finds out the problems in the society and grows up.
